Sometimes seeing is believing, so our crew regularly post shots to our Instagram feed.  Check it out to get a feel of what it’s like to visit The Brides’ Project!

We have more than gowns, we have accessories, too.   We have shoes, winter wraps, bubbles, petals, pillows, veils and headpieces… you name it.  Appointments are only required for veils – not other accessories!

Our selection of gowns here at TBP is incredible, with a mix of used and brand new gowns from all the popular designers like Pronovias, Maggie Sottero, Venus, Sophia Tolli, Mori Lee, Alfred Sung, Paloma Blanca and so forth. We work with a very clear philosophy that you should enjoy your gown shopping experience… there’s no pressure, no BS, we’re just hoping to sell some dresses to raise money to fight cancer.

Note:

We do not keep a current inventory online because our stock changes rapidly.  Trendy items come and go within a matter of hours or days!  We have about 500 dresses here, and while they are mostly dresses that are 3 years old and less, they will not be the dresses that are currently available in salons and boutiques.  If you see something in a salon that you want, we’ll have it when someone has had a chance to buy it, wear it and donate it!  Please do NOT contact us if you are searching for a specific gown – e.g. I want a Maggie Sottero “Julie” is size 12 in ivory… it’s like asking us to find a needle in a haystack!  If you’ve found a current dress in a salon that you love… buy it :)  We won’t have it this year, but would be absolutely delighted if you decide to add yours to our collection after the big day!

We have 3 very important house rules

  1. Please do NOT wear makeup when coming to try on gowns.
  2. You will have enough time to try on 5-6 dresses that you have selected yourself. Please treat them nicely! These aren’t samples where we can order a new one for the next person who comes on by, and you are essentially trying on someone else’s wedding dress.  Treat it the same way you would want someone to treat yours.
  3. Replace them nicely just as you found them… the train should be looped over the top of the hanger, gowns should be hung with others in the same size range, and treated gently! That way the next person can enjoy the same experience as you!

Sizing

We generally have sizes 0 to 26 available in the store, with more in the ‘sample’ size range of 8-12.

For all brides, the sizing is very different for gowns as opposed to ‘street clothes’ and typically inflated by 2-4 sizes just to make you feel extra huge on your wedding day.  Sizing varies between designers and also changes over time.  The chart below will give you a very approximate idea of what your size might be; however, since wedding dresses always need to be altered, you will be shown a range of sizes that can reasonably be altered to fit you!

Selection

Our selection here at TBP is amazing. Many of the gowns are worth hundreds of dollars… in some cases, thousands. I recognize that many brides are on a tight budget, and TBP appeals to those who do not want to pay salon prices or simply have other things they would like to spend their money on… kids, mortgages, etc. Please have realistic expectations; this is NOT a bridal salon with all the styles you see in magazines – we’ll see the current styles once someone has bought it, worn it to their wedding and then donated it.  Or perhaps when it’s discontinued and a salon sample.

Cleaning

Approximately 3/4 of our dresses are used, and we invite donors to bring them in ‘as-is’ for a very simple reason; they get dirty from being tried on, and the best time to have a gown cleaned is just before it will be altered for the new bride.  Even those dresses that have never been worn to a wedding may have some makeup marks and dust on the train, a few loose beads, etc., but nothing that can’t be easily remedied.  Our gown cleaner makes regular visits to ensure everything is ‘clean-able’, and has shown us the before/after transformations on some of the dirtiest dresses we’ve even seen.  You can find our preferred cleaner’s info here with video proof of their great work!

Alterations

Wedding dresses almost invariably need to be altered to fit properly… this isn’t like buying a pair of stretchy pants at the GAP!  We provide referrals to several garment goddesses we have met over the years who can not only do your essential fittings, but do some pretty miraculous transformations too!  Check out our referrals here.

Budget friendly

Gowns are sold AS IS, no exceptions. Our prices range from $100 to $1500, with the average gown priced at about $600. Please feel comfortable discussing your budget with us to help us tailor your shopping experience for you.

Sales are final

All sales are FINAL on gowns sold on site unless other arrangements are made and put in writing by the owner.
